Our Little Mishap!

This April 2016, Stanley had a little mishap while cooking @ home! It was such drama that many of our friends and family was shock by the extend of his injury and how cooking can caused him to be so badly injured!

Stanley cooks quite a bit at home, as he enjoys doing it and his childhood dream is to be a chef. So anyway, Stanley always cooks on Mondays and as usual he was planning a meal for us and he happily texted me in the day about what he wants to cook!

Chef reporting the menu!

So basically, the day goes off well and after fetching me from school, he was home cooking while i chill and work on some house work. All was going well, till i hear a loud shout: "Baby! Help!"

I ran to the Kitchen to check up what was wrong and found Stanley by the Sink with blood everywhere. He cut his finger!!! We both PANIC a little before I told myself to calm down!! Luckily I am first aid trained; from school and have a first aid box at home, thus was able to check on his wound and do some first aid on him! Seeing that the cut is real deep, I decided that it was best we head to the Hospital. But a chef being a chef, Stanley did not forget to ask me to keep the food and clear the space claiming that he would wanna cook later when he is discharge from the hospital!

I was doubtful, but what can i say? So I did clean up while Stanley wait in pain.

Stanley in pain and shock and panic agrees and asked where should we go? TTSH or SGH? Knowing that we had our hospitalization insurance well covered; to the max and on top of that Stanley having a accident care insurance, I told him that we should head to a private hospital instead. Therefore, we rush to Mt Elizabeth Novena. Glad we made that decision and glad we got our insurance well covered as well, cause we never know what will happen tomorrow!

At Mt E Novena A&E, we were glad to see that it was rather empty and therefore, we did not have to wait. Stanley was hurried to be examined by the doctor and soon after, the specialist came to check on him.

While he waits for the specialist to give him further instructions this man can still play!

After the specialist checked on him, he concluded that he cut his nerves, artery, and tendon! Like seriously!? and thus, have to undergo an operation! Thus, that is one night stay in the hospital plus operation fee!! And @ Mt E Novena, only the single bedded was available! So we go for it!

The operation was scheduled at 10.30p.m. and they wheeled him into the OR at 10p.m. while i drive home myself.

The operation goes well and the next day, I head back to the hospital to get him after school!

There just in time for his lunch and lunch seems good!! hahaha Taste good too!!

Upon discharge, we have to settle the bill and that was when we were super thankful to have our insurance well covered! Cause the bill of $14K was totally paid and covered for by insurance (as charged) and we did not have to pay of the amount! Our insurance also covered his follow up appointments and physio sessions!

Anyway, the next day after he was discharged, he headed home and cooked what he planned to cook on the day of the mishap, one day later but still as tasty as ever! Love this man who never let set back deters him!

His Yum Yum meal!!

After some times of physio and recovering, I would say that he is recovering well, deserve his ICE-CREAM and cooking like a chef as always!!

Love this man!
