Mummy's Day Special; Hai Di Lao Delivery

Have you been to Hai Di Lao? They are the steamboat place with the super nice mala soup and more importantly wonderful service! Down side, you usually have to Q for your turn to eat and the Q is really long!

But good news is that they are delivering! It has been a while now and having tried their delivery on two occasion, we concluded that even their home delivery service is great and yup would like to highly recommend it to all!!

So how to order?

Simply head to their webbie @ http://www.haidilao.oddle.me/ and make your order!

They deliver from 98SGD onward and they deliver from their 2 outlet; IMM and 313, select the outlet that is nearer to you as the delivery charges is based on the distance away from the outlet; S$4/km up to $50. You can make order 24hrs before the time you need it and it will reach you nice and ready!

How a spread for 8 looks like!

What is soooooo good about this whole experience is there is no washing needed! They will bring you everything! Yes, including the bowl and chopsticks from Hai Di Lao! Pot and Cooker, Extension Wire and also a cover for the table! They will bring out the trash and all so it is really easy!

This is with chicken and tomato soup (must try!)

If you wanna save on ordering price, you can order a-la carte and add your own fav food to it! great deal! since the magic is all in the soup right? Also they will give you extra soup which you can keep if you did not use it the first time!! Haha! One order double the happiness!!

Cafe Hopping Fun

Spent the past few weeks cafe hopping with peers and hubby and am here to share some great cafe food with all!!

1. Hatter St Cafe (Hougang)
212 Hougang St 21 #01-333 (Nearest Station Kovan)
Great place for waffles, cakes and ice-creams!

Visited Hatter St Cafe, with my friends and had some sweet treats and also spent time catching up!

Fruit Tart, which i find alright only, had better ones. So not recommended.

Waffles on the other hand is recommended!

Had  the mint chocolate and cookies & cream ice-cream on a waffle with salted caramel sauce. At first, we only wanted to try the mint because of its colour, but yup upon trying it, it is really good and no regrets! Unlike some waffles place with give just waffle, ice-cream and sauce, this have icing sugar and fruits to deco as well! Effort max!!

So thumb up and yup should try!

2. Rainbow Cottage Cafe (Ang Mo Kio)
452 Ang Mo Kio Ave 10 #01-1777 (Nearest Station Ang Mo Kio)

This is not my first time here, I enjoy visiting this little cafe as the owner is nice and friendly and always have good recommendation from time to time, they bothers to spend time chatting with you and ask how is the food and service, and to me this is what makes this place successful!

This time round I visited it with a group of my ex-students (dancers) and we spent an afternoon there to chill and catch up with life! Was nice and cosy as usual and we tried their normal waffle, red velvet waffle, drinks and pizza.

Red Velvet Waffle, chewy and really nice comes with white chocolate sauce! Yum!

Not only is their dessert good, so is their food food! Their Pizza is yummy too with lots of cheese! So great or cheese lover!

If you have not try this place, pls do!! No regrets!

3. Double Scoops Cafe (Ang Mo Kio)
226A Ang Mo Kio Ave 1 #01-627 (Nearest Station Ang Mo Kio)

Having visited so many cafe with my friends and ex-students, how can i not visit it with my hubby?

So decided to head to a cafe near our parents place on a Sunday and that is Double Scoops! They are well known for their desserts! Actually, looking at their menu, I won't eat anything else there, besides the sweet! They have great ICE-CREAM and wonderful Waffles!

Shop Front!

Waffle with 2 Scoops!

Hubby happy with his food!

Besides waffle, they are famous for their thick toast, and for Ice-cream, their Thai Ice Tea and Orh Nee is really good! If you like yam, do try the Orh Nee, it is thick and yummy!

Ci Yuan Hawker Place!

Ci Yuan is a much talk about Hawker place for the Hougang Dwellers. Therefore, for Stanley and I we visit it quite often too to try out the food there!

It was very quiet at the start but I guess as it is becoming more and more popular, more visitors are heading there especially during weekends dinner time!

The interesting thing about the place is that it is inside a Community Club and thus have Basement Parking lots and a clean and well ventilated environment unlike most older hawker place. Having been there a few time, we have shortlisted some nice stalls which we thinks you should try too!

1) Lor Mee
Zhen Hao Lor Mee
Unit: #01-13

The noodles is nice and cheap, giving it 3.5/5 stars! Cause nothings wins my fav stall at 453 Market in Ang Mo Kio!

2) Western Food
The Pasta Stop
Unit: #01-27

Pasta is really nice, anyone who can make pasta nicer than Stanley makes great pasta. As stanley standard of cooking is quite high already!

3) Japanese Don
Kitchen @ Work
Unit: #01-35

No photo, but they are a cheap alternative for Japanese don don craving! Dont have to visit Jap place to eat! can just eat here!!

4) Fried Oyster
Mei Shi Quan
Unit: #01-04

I wont say they are great but is nice! Oyster are fresh which is important for me! So yup, fresh and good with crispy flour and egg and big fresh oysters!

Anyway, when you are there, you will also notice that it have automated payment system which calculates the total about and takes in your payment and gives you your change through a dispensing machine; much like the MRT ticket machine!

So do hop by Ci Yuan Community Club and try their Hawker Food today! =)
