Happy 2016 to all as I continue with blogging about Stanley and my Vietnam Trip!

Today we spend our day in Hoi An Ancient Town! Having explore the town at night we marked out the sight seeing site we want to visit and decided to use the day to visit them! To visit the sight seeing sites, you need to purchase a ticket that is 120,000 dong (SGD$8), this ticket will allow you entrance to 5 sight seeing site that can be museum, old houses, communal houses, assembly halls, workshops, or performances.

Background of the Ancient Town:
In the 16th and 17th centuries, Hoi An was the international trading centre in south Vietnam. foreign merchant ships came to Hoi An in great numbers for annual commercial fairs, each lasted from 4 to 6 months. Right in this town, Japanese, Chinese, Dutch, Indian traders set up their emporiums or established their own quarters for habitation.

Thanks to UNESCO, the site is now preserved as a world heritage site to keep the rich history of Hoi An alive.
