Our Wedding Day, 121314

121314, #stan121314suvie

Our wedding day starts early in the morning with my MUA reaching my place at about 5am.

Basically, MUA will arrive based on the time you need to start gate crash and it is usually 3 hrs before the gate crashing begins, so the earlier the gate crash the earlier you need to wake up. >.<

6a.m. all my jie meis' arrived @ my mum's place and prep for war! While the guys have time for MAC breakie and all!

Make up done!

8a.m. gate crashing starts. As Stanley and I love watching Running Man, we opt for it to be our morning theme for Gate crash! So, NO to de-grading act like "banana" games and all, instead we had Running Man games!

Wedding Car Deco!

My Hand Flowers! Pretty in Pink!

THE SisterS!

After the gate crash is was tea ceremony at both his parents' place and my parents' place. Then off we fly to NTU for Photos!

6p.m. all is ready for the night!

Ready for the 2nd march in!

Bridesmaid Dresses!

Have 6 lovely bridesmaids for my wedding and each one of them are my pals and buddies from my Cheerleading team besides my little sister!

My idea of bridesmaids outfit is really not for all to look the same, I am someone who value individuality and i believe that my bridesmaids don't have to all look the same to look pretty! Thus, I simply give them a colour theme or blue and tiffany / mint and let them go try on dresses which will look good on them.

The most common place to get dresses in Singapore is City Plaza @ Paya Lebar. and that was where we head to.

Among all the shops, there are a few which stand out with many lovely bridesmaids dresses in many varying colours!

1) Love Dovey @ #01-19 City Plaza

Their price are affordable with price ranging from $30plus (short dresses) to $70plus (long dresses). Dresses there are suitable for wedding and even for attending wedding! They have lovely design in a range of colours and size range from S to L, therefore, suitable for bridesmaids of all sizes!

2) Estrella Concept @ #02-108 City Plaza

This place sells nice convertibles which are suitable for bridesmaids of all sizes and the convertibles comes in many colours and designs. They also have dresses which are sweet and nice.

So these are my lovely Jie Mei's in their dresses!

Left to Right:
Pamela, Lijuin, Janice, Jia Ling & Charis.
All dress from the 2 shop above!

Clockwise from the left:
Janice, Pamela, Li Juin, Phyllinda, Jia Ling & Charis.

Their dress are of different designs but in similar colour scheme and when they stand together they really look super lovely!

Thanks Jie Mei's for making my wedding a lovely one!

Updated on 30/3/2015: Love Dovey has officially been renamed as Le voeu you can follow them on Facebook and Instagram

GDL Day!!

Stanley and I are not a fan of traditions and having to go through all this customaries was really a pain for us. However, we try our best to make it as easy and as simplified as possible. Thus, we had a very simple Gou Da Li and i think as generation move by and as we get more and more westernise and modern this "tradition" will fade away.

So here is our SIMPLE Gou Da Li.

Groom Side:
1) "Bride Price" aka Pin Jin
2) Martell VSOP x 2
3) Drangon & Phoenix Candles x 2 pair
4) Pig Trotters Canned x 12 Cans
5) Oranges x 12
6) Si Dian Jian --> Gold Set
7) Diper Money / Ang Bao
8) Wedding Cakes

Bride Side Return:
1) Part of the Pin Jin / "Bride Price"
2) 4 Oranges
3) 4 cans of Pig Trotters
4) Tea Set
5) Bowl Set
6) Bed Set for An Chuang
7) Bedside Lamp
8) Wedding Cakes
9) Orange Juices x 2 bottles
10) a Pair of Dragon & Phoenix Candles

Place to Buy Guo Da Li items
1) Chinatown; People's Park Centre
2) Le Knot @ City Plaza Level 5
3) The Chinese Wedding Shop @ Jubilee Ang Mo Kio

If you head to JB often you can also visit this shop which sells all the items at a cheaper price compared to Singapore. It is like everything same price as SG but in Ringgit.

4) Big Day Wedding & Gifts @ 88 Jln Tombak 1, Taman Sri Tebrau. Phone number is +60 7-333 4555

Places to buy Guo Da Li Wedding Cakes
1) Kyo Cakes @ 82 Marine Parade Central

We got 30 boxes from them which are cute and tasty! Great Service! Free home delivery with every $100 dollars purchase and also 5% discount with every $200 purchase.

2) Pine Gardens @ 529 Ang Mo Kio Ave 10

We got like 16 boxes from them, their cakes are nice and tasty but they can be very crowded which leads to a lack in service as there is just too many customers to serve at each time. But their cakes are indeed nice!

3) Swee Heng Cakes @ 24 Senoko Crescent
they have lesser selection but prices are affordable so for couple on budget this is a good choice too!

Hope this helps couples who are doing their wedding planning and remember at the end of the day tradition can be compromise if we learn how to simplify things a little and something, it is best to just do it not for you but for the bond of the 2 family.
